2025 All-State Junior Band
Kati Seiter, Conductor
Kati Seiter (she/her) is a music educator at Oregon Middle School in Oregon, Wisconsin. Seiter teaches larch and small group learning with band students in grades 7 & 8. In her 22+ years as an educator, she has worked with students in grades 6-12. In addition to Oregon, she has taught in the Manitowoc Public School District and the Whitnall School District.
Setiter was part of the UW-Whitewater Band Camp staff from 2001-2019. She has taught oboe and flute sectionals, double reed chamber ensembles, conducting, and general music classes to students in grades 6-12. She has also been a guest conductor for the UWW Middle Level Band Camp.
Seiter is a strong advocate for the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) model and implements it into her teaching. She is also very passionate about equity for all students. Seiter is an adjudicator with WSMA and has served as a cooperating teacher for pre-service educators. She has presented numerous sessions at the Wisconsin State Music Conference with topics about jazz and band education as well as advocacy.
When not teaching, Seiter is a freelance musician performing on oboe and English horn. She has performed in the Verona Area Concert Band, Waukesha Area Symphonic Band, Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra, and several pit orchestras. She is a member of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), in which she has held the Membership Chair (2021-2016) and President (2016-2022) positions on the Executive Board and Council.
Seiter is also the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Junior All-Stars of Music through Guardian Travel Group. Through this program, she has organized tours to Hawaii for middle school musicians. In addition, she has participated as a coordinator for the Wisconsin All-Stars of Music for high school musicians in their tour of Europe.
Seiter is a three-time GRAMMY Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist. She completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2002 and her Master of Arts in Education with an Emphasis in Adaptive Education from Alverno College in 2010.
